Working Hard To Play Harder How Lindt Sprüngli USA Is Driving Better Employee Engagement - Work It Daily If you work for a large company, you might feel like a small fish in a big pond at times. With so many employees, departments, and divisions, it can be hard to form relationships with people across the company. Lindt Sprüngli USA recognized this challenge, and has made it a priority to drive better employee engagement. Lindt Sprüngli is a global leader when it comes to premium chocolate, offering high-quality products in more than 120 countries. Lindt USA’s corporate offices are located in Stratham, New Hampshire, uniquely situated as also one of 12 Lindt Sprüngli production facilities worldwide, and home to more than 1,200 employees. When you have that many employees, it can be difficult to make sure everyone is happy and engaged. That’s why the company has made a huge effort to encourage employee-driven activities on- and off-campus. Why is employee engagement so important to Lindt USA? “At Lindt USA, working hard and playing hard go hand-in-handâ€"it’s part of the culture in this fast-paced and competitive industry,” said Lisa Cloutier, Vice President of Human Resources. “The leadership here believes that by offering a stimulating, collaborative work environment we can strengthen our shared sense of purpose and community across the business.” There is something to appeal to almost anyone, according to Cloutier, whether you work in the manufacturing facility, the finance department, marketing and sales, or Lindt’s retail stores. “The goal is to be inclusive,” she said. What kinds of activities are available to Lindt USA employees? There are tons of fun activities at Lindt USA that allow employees to bond as a team, including a golf league, bowling club, running club, and volunteer opportunities. The variety of activities offered makes it easy for both new and seasoned employees to have fun and connect with people across the company. “There are so many ways fostering engagement like this benefits our business,” said Cloutier. “For starters, our Lindt sponsored activities create opportunities for employees to develop connections with colleagues that they may not work with every day.” How have these activities helped the company? According to Cloutier, these opportunities allow people to interact in a casual, team-oriented way outside of work, which then strengthens internal relationships and trust across departments. As a result, there are stronger employee relationships and, ultimately, increased productivity. “When employees respect and understand what others do in the company, it has a positive impact on results all around,” she said. “It’s a win-win for both.” Want to learn more about Lindt USA?
